(I) Play Therapy Ethics

November 7, 2025 | 4pm-7pm | In-Person | 3 Credit Hours | This workshop will review ethical decision-making models from various mental health disciplines. Through real life case examples, participants will review play therapy case vignettes related to the therapeutic relationship, parents and family, confidentiality, professional responsibility regarding mandated reporting, coordinating care with other professional providers, evaluation/assessment, supervision and consultation, and use of technology. ***Training Objectives: Select and implement a decision-making model to use with ethical dilemmas in play therapy practice. Apply licensing rules and code of ethics, APT Play Therapy Best Practices, Paper on Touch, and technology guidelines to various play therapy cases. Describe current research for play therapy practice, recommendations, and guidelines of boards and associations regarding the use of social media and telehealth sessions.
