This training is designed to support Child-Centered Play Therapists in navigating the challenges of clinical documentation while staying grounded in the person-centered philosophy. Participants will learn to develop play therapy treatment plans that meet the demands of managed care—such as measurable goals and objectives—without compromising their therapeutic presence and theoretical orientation. ***Training Objectives: Describe the theory of change underlying Child-Centered Play Therapy and how it applies to documentation that honors the therapists way of being and respects the child’s process/right to confidentiality. Demonstrate the ability to write progress notes that synthesize changes in play therapy using objective language. Analyze play therapy progress notes to distinguish descriptive language from interpretive language.
