Grounded in the belief that relationship is the primary agent of change, participants will learn how to approach the intake process with curiosity, empathy, and a strengths-based lens. | Training Objectives: Describe how the intake and assessment process can be used by play therapists to begin establishing a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship with both the child and caregiver. Identify relational strategies for gathering assessment information that align with the principles of child-centered play therapy. Use intake and assessment as a foundation for attunement, therapeutic pacing, and collaborative goal setting within a child-centered framework.
