(H) Introduction to Sandplay Therapy

Date and Time TBD | Live Webinar | 3 Credit Hours | This workshop will introduce participants to the use of a sand tray in the play therapy space in the tradition of Dora Kalff. Participants will learn the history and theory of Sandplay therapy in the Jungian/Kalff tradition. Participants will learn about setting up a sand tray and miniatures, will learn how to hold the space when a client is working in the sand, and will examine examples of symbols and the way they are used in symbolic play and metaphor. Participants will explore the various meanings of different symbols, especially in the context of personal and cultural history in sand play therapy. ***Training Objectives: Describe the history and basic theory of sand play therapy. Discuss how to understand the meaning of symbols used in sand play therapy. Identify one's own projections onto symbols used in sand play therapy.
