(M) Diagnosis in Play Therapy

September 24, 2025 | 12pm-1:00pm | Live Webinar | 1 Credit Hours | This 1.5-hour training offers child-centered play therapists a reflective and relational approach to understanding diagnosis within the therapeutic process. Rather than viewing diagnosis as a label or deficit, participants will explore how it can be used as a tool for understanding a child’s experience and communicating needs across systems. Grounded in a strengths-based perspective and the belief that the therapeutic relationship is the primary agent of change, this training invites play therapists to hold diagnostic language lightly by balancing clinical responsibility with deep respect for the whole child. | Describe how play therapists can reframe diagnosis as a tool for understanding and advocacy within a CCPT framework. Identify at least two ways play therapists can integrate diagnostic information into play therapy while preserving the therapeutic relationship as the central agent of change.
